Need help disassembling trim cylinder

My boat's starboard side trim cylinder is leaking and Volvo does not have seal kit for rebuilding it. They sell the whole kit and it is expensive, $1850.

Before putting up a white flag, I want to hack it, by using sealing kit from OMC or something.

Can someone show me how to disassemble this cylinder?

Do you happen to know where I can buy the trim cylinder rebuild kit? I went to Volvo Penta shop in Houston and they don't sell rebuild kit for trim cylinders.

Ryan, it would be helpful if you were to post the year and model of your engine and stern drive.

There is a man in Canada who may have the rebuild kits for these.

Keep an eye on E-Bay sales if you would like to simply replace them.
FYI..... due to most sellers not using the correct terminology, I would vary your search key words.

Volvo Penta ram cylinders.

My boat model is:
2007 Chaparral 180 SSI
Engine: Volvo Penta 3.0 GLE
Transom Assembly SX-AT32 / 4151151274
Trim and Tilt cyclinders: 3889957
 
Yes, Bill and I go back many years regarding Volvo Penta.
I tried calling him earlier this morning... no answer.

I would contact him and see if he can help you when the parts come in.
