Johnson Control Re-Assembly

Hello,

I recently had to install a new ignition switch on my 77 Johnson Control box. When I did this the ball (part 30) that keeps the shift and throttle plate (part 37) from fully seating. I have taken the little cover off and pulled the spring out trying to get these back together but can't figure out how to connect outside panel (shift arm side) to the inside panel while keeping this ball in place.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
 
Without having put one together myself I have found that a little dab of grease on the end of a spring does a good job of holding a ball. Hopefully that will work for you.
 
Put part 37 in place.---Put the ball in.----Put the spring in.------Put the wee cover in place.------Should not be that hard to do.
