1964 ignition support

looking for info on a RDS 26. 40 horse 1964 Johnson ignition plate support, current replacement parts from marine Eng. Not compatible with my power head, mine has a bronze color support that centers on the crank boss with bronze washer above the plate. The new parts lock up ignition plate. Would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.
 
That stuff was very common year to year.------Same parts on 3 / 5.5 / 6 / 10 / 20 / 33 / 40 hp motors.----Post part numbers you got.---Post detailed pictures of how you installed this stuff.---Should be a quick / simple solution to this !!
 
Not sure what you are describing. Can you post some pictures? There is an armature plate update kit, but that doesn't fit your description.
