Fuel fitting question

I just finally got my old 18 foot starcraft back on the water after a years worth of putting in a new floor, and motor work. I also acquired a little mercury 110 as a kicker/trolling motor. The issue I'm having is that I have 3 fuel tanks for long weekend trips, and one of them is a plastic tank with the Atwood sprayless (for the main evinrude 75) and the other two are old metal tanks with the 2 pin connector (came with the kicker motor). I was wondering if I could get a short little 4" or so piece of fuel line and put a sprayless connector on one end, and the 2 pin on the other, so I can hook my evinrude 75 to the two metal tanks (the fuel line I have for it is 2 pin to connect to the motor, and sprayless on the other end). I'd like to be able to use the fuel line from the 75 to all three tanks without changing the line on the motor (it's a little tricky to get to), is there a reason I shouldnt make a little adapter like that?
