Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI-G Issue With Injectors Stuck Open

Hi All,

I'm trying to locate the issue with my 2006 Monterey and its Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI-G, I'm thinking its a short in the wiring loom or bad earth or even a faulty ECU. The ECU part is a 3818613 and they are hard to find to be able to test it.

Issue is, I have injectors 3 and 5 staying open and flooding those cylinders.

As i understand, the ECU will fire 4 injectors at a time, the other two injectors are pulsing fine, and the other 4 are also ok. just 2 of the eight staying open and hydrolocking the engine with fuel.

I have had the injectors cleaned and tested, also swapped them around and same issue.

Before i go out and purchase a new ECU, is there anything else i can test / check?

by chance does anyone have a wiring diagram also??

Disconnect the ecm.If the injectors still stick open you have a short to ground on the injector control side.If the injectors stop spraying after you disconnect ecm then its most likely the ecm.
