had spark plugs out to check spark and noticed while cranking motor the two bottom cylinders were spitting quite a bit of fuel out. we could'nt get it started prior to that. after confirming we had good spark in all cylinders we re-installed the plugs tried one more time and it started. now this is a new powerhead and i am running 50-1 in the tank plus the vro mix. would a bad needle valve or a stuck float cause the amount of fuel in the two cylinders and the hard to start condition?

That it would.
thanks for your reply. i ordered carb kits for it. i bought the motor this past fall. it sat in the previous owners garage for about six years. he was building it for a boat that he ended up selling. motor has a lot of new parts so i assumed the carbs were re-built. but looking at the side plate gaskets they all have age cracks. so its carb time. thanks again.
