I have a 2004 Searay 240 Sundeck with a 5.7 vortec Mpi.
Background: Bought this boat with a cracked cylinder head. Motor was completely disassembled. All I got was three boxes of parts. The engine that was in it was a 5.0 Mpi. Serial# 0M620208. I decided to upgrade to a 5.7l since I was doing a complete rebuild on the motor. So everything is done, back together and ready to bench start.
Question#1: Using my service manual wiring diagram, it looks like I should have two knock sensors (odd/even). Tracing my wiring harness I only have one connector for a Knock Sensor. The connector is located on the left rear of the engine. Where is the left side knock sensor located? Should I have two knock sensors?
Question#2: On the rear of the engine where the the block and intake join and close to the distributor is, there is a 3/8” threaded hole or a 1/8” pipe thread hole. When I primed the oil pump, oil was coming out of this hole. Am I missing a plug? Sensor?
See attached photos.
Thanks you all your help.
