I have a Chrysler Nissan CN6-33, also known as an SD-33 in the automotive version. I need to know WOT so I get speed calculations to dial in the right prop. But the manual does not use that terminology "WOT." I also need to know what rpm is OK to run the engine. Here is the info I do have:
There is a plate on the engine that says the following:
Rated output - 73 @ 3200
Cont. output - 53 @ 2600
The manual has an engine performance curve graph which calls 3200 "maximum intermittent speed." It calls 2600 maximum continuous speed.
However, I have also seen a marketing brochure from Nissan that lists "rated horsepower" as 4000.

- Is 3200 WOT? or 4000?
- Should I avoid running the engine above 2600 except for maneuvering?
- Is it safe to run the engine up 3200 for 5-10 minutes or more?
- If 3200 is the highest safe RPM, should I limit my throttle at 3200? Or for emergency maneuvering, should limit it higher?
