as I was replacing the impeller on my Yamaha 40 HR I noticed that the main exhaust is not aligned with the hole on the bottom of the shaft:

Has anyone seen something similar? How could this affect exhaust gas / water flow? Exhaust gas is coming out of the small exhaust port above the water together with a bit of cooling water, with higher rpm through the propeller as expected.
The engine was working fine, no strange noise, shaft was warm but still touchable, not really hot.
I am looking forward for your advice,
