Good Morning. '86 v-6, points ignition. I've got a no start problem that I've been trouble-shooting. In checking the ignition switch wiring I have encountered a continuity problem. With the wires disconnected from the switch, and the battery disconnected, there is continuity between three of the four wires that are connected to the Ign and the Sol. The manual tells me there should be no continuity between any of the wires when they are removed and the battery disconnected. The three are: Blue wire going to panel light switch, Purple going to Oil pressure gauge, Pink going into the harness. Since the Sol wire is the common thread, is that where I should start? What is the best way to test this? I assume continuity in this case means that something is connected that shouldn't be, is that correct?
Thanks, Rich
