Good all I was wondering is there another way to identify which engine I have on my mercury outboard ? Besides the sticker on the transom. I believe it’s a 1981 225hp but my decal says different. SN#0A961099

Serial is for a 1987 motor..1981 block has no place to install oil injection,uses 14 pedal reeds and single ram trim
 
Thank you for the reply. The motor I have has no oil injection, only 7 petals on read block and my trim/tilt unit is the 3 wire with one main ram for tilt and two smaller ones for the trim side fill. When I redid the fuel pump The kit it was for a 225. I brought the old ones to the shop and matched them up. So I’m a bit lost. There also is a decal on the front of the engine saying info for a 1981 225 timing and rpm info.
