2005 - Mercury 25hp 4stroke BigFoot, Model style:ELPT/BF 4 - Serial 1F25412DB
Question: I have heard from a local shop that some of theese models are made as higher horsepower engines and tuned down in the brain of the engine. So chances are that i can order a new brain to increase the hosepowers on my engine without any further tuning. Is there anyone out there that knows the specifics of this? It feels like the engine is running low rpm at max trottle. im using original speed controller and cables and i have the engine on a 17 foot open boat called Rana 17, typical fishing boat in norway. its not as light as some of the other ones, but im only getting 17 knots with the engine at full trottle and a little powertrim.
