I found a hole in my oil line from my big tank to the engine reservoir. replaced the joint. I did not know about the hole, but when i was running a couple of weeks ago the low oil indicator went off and motor was reduced to 1000 rpm only...filled the engine reservoir (big tank was completely full) limped home and traced the line, found the hole. Went back out ran it for a while, came home and removed the hood, and the reservoir was reduced from where i had filled it....not quite to half but i believe the engine is running off that oil and not the main big tank. Oh and i cannot fill the engine reservoir by using the emergency switch, when i turn on the key and attempt to use it, there is no noise or anything. Question: I do not see or feel a pump on the big tank. There are wires going in and a line coming out to the engine....so, do i need to prime that line that had the hole in it?...why isnt the emergency switch working or pumping? Is there a pump on the big tank? Do i need to just replace the oil pump and hope for the best?
