Honda BF150A possible fuel issue

Hi all. Looking for a little help. I have a 2017 150 Honda outboard. I was running a little hot so I replaced the 2 tstats and the impeller assy. Took the boat back out and still having fuel issues. Seems that when I run above 1/2 throttle, the motor starts to surge. I know the temp and fuel are two separate issues and not related, it was just coincidence that I had 2 issues at the same time. Any ideas on the surging?

Note: ext fuel/water filter, fuel filter replaced 2 weeks ago.

How many hours has this motor done, has the high pressure filter been changed? Do you do the recommended servicing as specified by Honda?
 
The motor has less than 100 hours. The services are performed by a Honda mechanic usually. Unfortunately, this year everyone is backed way up due to the lockdown. I can not say for sure if the HP filter has been changed.
