Cleaning portable fuel tank lines

I have a Tohatsu 6HP 4-stroke. The three gallon tank and bulb are from Tohatsu. I am removing and cleaning out the carb for fuel residue. Is it advisable remove the fuel hose from the tank and use something to flush out the hose? If so, are SeaFoam or carb cleaner appropriate? I was concerned carb cleaner would damage the liner of the hose or bulb.

Should fuel pump or internal fuel lines be cleaned?
