Have a SeaRay with an alpha 1 drive.
never had a problem with the trim or tilt.
boat has been covered and unused for the last 2 years.
upon opening it up& putting batteries in it, motor will go down, but will not trim or tilt up.
i have read that the limit switch will cause this, and can be bypassed.
thoughts?
is there a way to test the limit switch?
will the limit switch also keep it from tilting up

If you can find the wires coming thru the transom, there are two sets (small black wires and two wires stuck together) .

Follow them until you find they plug into a junction see picture. Two Blk wires one with possibly a blue band on it and the other with a Purple band on it.

They plug into bullet connectors, one is Purple with white stripe the other is two in one, Blue with white stripe.

Remove the two BLK wires from transom at the bullet connectors, Make a male bullet connector jumper ~ 6" long. Plug male ends into female bullet connectors. This bypasses the Limit switch. If this works, replace limit switch.

NOTE: when installing this bypass jumper the trim switch alone will raise the drive all the way up so no need to press the trailer button Which is NOT how this system is designed to be used!
