Water spewing from top cover of A1 G2

2002 A1 G2 (OM424120). I removed my top cover over the winter, re-installed with new oring. I followed Manual 14 where it says to put sealer in shaded location shown on page 3A-45 (used Permatex Aviation) and torqued the screws. Started on the muffs today. Water is spewing from around the cover. What did I do wrong? Thanks for any help!
 
Thank you Bt Doctur. I guess I don't understand the plug situation. Why didn't they design it where it's permanently closed off? Is access needed via the passageway for some reason?
