Accidentally getting a Phd in Volvo Penta's as I try to identify my Duo Prop out of a 1997 Pursuit with a 454ci 330hp. One article said the DP-SM showed up in 1997.
I cannot find an identification plate anywhere and the salt water as done its damage on any exterior marketing materials.
Looking at 1001 photos and some poorly written guides and the best I can tell is I have a DP-S or a DP-SM. One thread on the Hull Truth had a guy asking about them with a tech saying they are the same and/or parts are interchangeable.
1. Can you tell me if I'm on the right patch based on the attached photo of my outdrive?
2. What does the variations in the DP-S vs DP-SM represent?
