Hi All
and thanks in advanc for any advice.
So I am trying to get the steering shaft out of this Honda 50 as it has some rust

The problem is that the lower spline seems to be salt water corroded into the lower swivel caseing

I have removed the retaining circlip but I cant get this off.

Has anyone ever got one of these off or does it have to be cut off.
Thanks

I've just done one, and it took some serious beating to get it off, and back on, to the new one, even after a few days soaking with penetrating oil and a little heat applied to the collar. If you haven't already, I would suggest you have that whole swivel assembly removed from the motor.

thanks for that at least now I know it can be done. Been spraying it with penetrating fluid for last week now I have it submerged in diesel, I’ll try with heat next week . If not I’ll go with ur idea . Cheers

Hey, how did you remove the engine from the swivel mount? I disconnected the upper and lower mounts, but the gear linkage is keeping me from removing. Hoping I don't have to take apart the engine to get at the gear linkage rod!
