1993 tracker pro17 with 40hp johnson batteries in parallel???

HI guys ,my tracker boat has 2 batteries hooked in parallel...Is there any problem running the boat this way???? Trolling motor and motor hooked to batteries...Would this cause to much strain on my charging ???? Never ran the batteries low and engine always starts good....Any input would be appreciated....Thanks....
 
Ok,Thanks.....Read some where that unless you use a battery switch to isolate the trolling motor from starting battery that it can cause stress on the charging system to charge both batteries ????? I ran the boat this way last year without problems,just wanted to check....Thanks again..
 
Customary way is the trolling motor should have it's own battery or be switchable. That's so it doesn't run the starting battery down and leave you stranded. Besides, the charging system on most motors doesn't have enough capacity to replenish what was used by the troller anyway.
