Thanks for the reply. I knew someone would be able to identify this thing. Is there any way to check the pump before dropping the cash on a new motor?That a old Calco unit...… have to send reservoir off to have new motor fitted. Typical rotten wiring and leaks. Hope the pump is good.

Yes. Wiring is good. Replaced solenoid. Solenoid clicks when switch is activated.Have you checked wiring,solinoid,switch
Good advice.Water sneaks into the motor, just because water does things like that.-----Rusts the top bearing / bushing area.-----That is why I would mount that motor INSIDE the boat !
Yes, I suspected that.The entire harness into motor is degraded and has allowed water intrusion into motor...….see pic.
