290 serial number

I have a 290sp that needs work. Can anyone tell me what drive I have (gear ratio etc) if I have the serial number? 2900701B

Remove the propeller, remove the ring anode and wire brush the AFT end on the prop shaft bearing carrier.
The numbers 1.61 should be stamped into the carrier.

For the s/p drive, 1.61:1 is the correct over-all reduction for the V-8 engine.
