I am trying to convert a rope start 1987 Johnson 40 hp to an electric start. Having trouble finding a starter that will mount to the engine. Got a Sierra 18-5630 but that starter does not fit in the area where it is supposed to mount. It hits the cover where the fuel inlet is located. Anyone have any suggestions?
