Replacing a Honda BF50 with a BF60

My pontoon is currently powered by a 1999 Honda BF50 (carbureted). I am replacing it with a 2015 Honda BF60 (fuel injected). Will the remote for the 50hp work with the 60hp, or do I need to replace it with a newer remote? The wiring diagrams seem the same for the remote. The changes I see occur in the motor. Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
I would imagine the forward and reverse controls as well as the ignition connections would be the same. The only difference is you would have no use for the choke on your controls.
 
Thanks Jimmy. I appreciate the quick response. I'll have to look at the wiring diagrams and see what options I have for these two indicators.
 
Thanks eneusiis. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Unfortunately, a tech at Honda America told me I would need to change it. But, the only reason he could give me was it is now 20 years old. Although that is a valid point, I was looking more for the technical reasons, not just the sales reason. Thanks again for your answer.
