2002 mercury 50 hp carb float measurement

I’m getting confused on carb float measurement is say from bottom of gasket to carb float one manual says to highest point on float if carb is flipped upside down and the other says lowest horasontal point of the float body both give 9/16 as a dimension
 
The other manual has the line to the bottom of the float we’re it slopes down that in the seloc manual for 2.5-250 hours mercury 2 strokes
