I am adapting a custom set of gauges and controls for use with Yamaha. My local dealer doesn't seem to want to help any further than suggesting that I simply buy all Yamaha and then just plug and play. Not my preferred option for several reasons.
In any case, most issues have been resolved. I am left with some clarifications required on the trim and oil wiring harness which typically gets plugged into the Yamaha multifunction tachometer and speedometer.
The wiring harness consists of two plugs (M&F) on each end. One carries the tilt sensor feedback on Orange, Black and Pink. The other carries the oil level on Green-Red and Green-Black.
What is the expected signal on the oil level wires? Need to know both normal and alarm.
There is a Gray wire in the bundle as well that should be a general temperature alarm. I suspect that this wire grounds on alarm. Can anyone confirm?
