Hi again!
Yamaha 60hp four stroke, high thrust.. 1400 hrs, tropical location.
This motor starts, with difficulty, but sometimes the voltage on the instrument shows very low, at around 12.3 V, then Creeps up to around 13.2 but will go. no further, when normally the meter shows 14.8v.
Yesterday, after behaving like this for ½ hr, and turning off at 13.2 for 15 mins, it came back on restarting at 14.8v,
Today, back to problematical. and was OK.
This battery is very tired, sure, and I would get a new one right away, except the traders here don't recharge their stock batteries as a matter of course, and I've had four locally, and had to take them all back. Taking a volt meter to these traders, the batteries all seem to be very low 12v, even 11.??.
But they won't charge up properly.
I've cleaned and checked the terminals carefully.
Any ideas?
