Got this neglected kicker from a friend. It started right away and sounded good but no water flow. Took the lower unit off and the impeller is totally disintegrated. Any easy way to remove the rest of the impeller? I’ve always replaced mine on a regular basis and the impeller just slides off. This one looks to be corroded on. I sprayed some penetrating oil on the shaft and will give it a go after letting it sit a bit. I really don’t want to use heat because I’m hoping just to replace the impeller and not melt other parts.

And if it wants to be stubborn, split the brass hub with a chisel.

All those broken vanes pieces have to be removed or it will overheat.

Thanks. That’s basically what I did. I’m a dentist so brought the patient into the office and cut the thing off by making a slot on not sides and splitting it in half. Thanks for the replies

Sure, if you can be as good as Mr Merc. Was on time for his appointment, Didn’t want any anesthesia, and laid perfectly still. On second thought he didn’t pay his bill so maybe not like him :)
