Twin Verado Seperation

Hi Guys,

I'm re-powering my boat with twin 250 Verado's but am not sure about the seperation distance, does it matter how close or far apart they are? I realise that they can't be too close but does it matter if they are fairly far apart?

Cheers

Saw this on another forum:

"Standard MINIMUM spacing used to be 26" but with the bigger 4 strokes they went to 29" as only the 55 Degree V Suzuki's would fit in 26". If you have holes at 35" GREAT. Easier to rig, easier access in the middle and most important the boat will handle much better. Good luck"

So other than the factory tie bar not being long enough is there any other reason this will be an issue??!! I mean, surely further apart would make the boat more stable and give you more control when docking..??

You can space the engines how ever you want....26" is the minimum with the L series.

If you need to space them at 37" inches then your mid-section length is too short.
