Any issues adding quick disconnect fittings

I've got a mercury 115hp efi 4 stroke which is current connected to the internal fuel tank via barbs with hose clamps, I'm toying with the idea of putting a quick disconnect fitting on the inlet to the water separating filter in between the tank and motor to allow me to use a portable tank either for short trips or extra fuel for long trips I'd like some advice 1. I can't see any rating sizes on most of the quick disconnect, any issue running this sized motor off them? 2. Does it matter which brand I use? The motor is mercury but I already have a couple of Yamaha's, or is there another type that is better? 3. Is there anything I have missed or a reason not to do this? Thanks
