2004 Honda 150, side UP/DOWN switch doesn't work

Just got a used GW with a 2004 Honda 150. I didn't get a manual so pardon if this seems like a stupid question.

I can raise and lower the engine with the toggle switch on the side of the throttle handle at the helm but the small switch on the side of the engine itself does nothing.

Just a bad switch or am I missing something?

The switch needs to be disconnected for cowl removal during service, it may not have been reconnected at last service. Check and see that the plug is connected. These switches can also stick and for this reason it may have been disconnected intentionally in which case you will need to replace it or just accept that it doesn't work.
