Hi. I’m new toboating and I just acquired a 1985 OMC 16 foot “sea swirl” with a 302STHRCOM. Engine works, no leaks, interior looks good(needs good cleaning). There are a few items (on the boat) that needattention. One being the trim sendingunit, the sending unit part number seems to be 0981458.
I removed the sending unit from the housing and notice abunch of water expelled from the unit. The resistor (potentiometer or rheostat)in the unit is corroded. Anyone know value of this resistor? Also, is it possibleto get the resistor for this unit? Does anyone know where I can get this part,any have any recommendations?
