I have a DPS-B drive and am in the process of replacing the gimble bearing. I have the old bearing out and ready to install the new one. However I have two questions.
1. The Volvo shop manual says on page 220 "Position the gimbal bearing with the ring slots facing in towards shield. When I removed the old bearing the slots were facing out. Which is the right way.
2. I would like to replace the gimble bearing seal at this time. If so how does the old one get removed. How does the new one go in, do I need the "special tool". 3850038?
