60hp EFI Starting Problems

Mercury 60hp EFI starts sometimes and then not. Hooked up a new control box and switch and got the problem. It either fires right up or nothing, no warning horn beep, no power trim. Go out to try it later and it starts up and everything is fine.

Any ideas?
 
If even trim/tilt won't work it's probably a power supply. Did you check battery connections? When you changed the control box check any connections that were removed at that time.
 
Checked everything and has power to the motor. Starts just fine today so far. But it has done this before and then nothing when I turn the key.
 
Can you take a picture of the connections at the battery? Would like to see what you have there.
 
If problem started with installation of new controls, it in the plug or switch. Battery cables don't come on control harness..
 
Agreed, but he certainly disconnected battery for the task. That's when his problem started. Could be something "stupid" like that, so no response from him yet.
