Hi!
I`m going to buy my first boat + trailler + outboard motor.
I have several photos and I`ve been reading a lot about buying used engines.
I have some photos of the engine. Could you please let me now if you see anything wrong regarding the engine?
Could yu also let me know the model and year of the engine? SN is OP182264

Many thanks,

Thank you for your replies.
I will definitely need PN 17-812896A22 which costs aprox 390 USD.
This motor is included in a Trailer + Boat + Engine deal. The owner says he used the boat for wakeboarding in the summer months.
He said that the engine as aprox 160 Hrs but thats what he said.
Taking in account the pictures I took of the inside of the engine, you would not buy it?

What kind of condition is the boat in? If it looks like the motor run. Somehow they broke the lower pan and the rust on the swivel just sets off a ton of alarms for me. If it is a salt water motor it may not even come apart.

I have some pictures in the following link of the boat and trailer:

The rib and the floaters are in excellent conditions. There is a small repair but that was all. There are no scratches, no discoloring.
For a 4.9 metres boat, the price is really good also because I weared down the seller with long negotiations.
I`m only afraid of the engine. It is a salt water engine.
The broken lower pan and the broken anode also catches my attention.

What anode? The Anode is there to protect the motor from salty/brackish water. That motor is going to be more than the $390 for the swivel bracket. How it looks n the outside will be as bad or worse on the inside. Usually if it is a long negotiation nobody else wanted it. It is up to you if you want it just be aware the motor is not an easy fix.
