older 4 cylinder mercruiser Identification?

A stupid question to y'all, obviously y'all know your motors. Did mercruiser in the 60's-70's make a 3.0L ? Or where they GM 120-140's ?
 
The 140 came out in 1968 this is the 3.0, 110 hp version of the 2.5 came out in 1963. If you look in the parts section here you can search all years and engines gives you a decent idea of what engines/engine version was made when .

Ayuh,.... Both of which are based on the ole Chevy 235 I-6,.....
