I have a 1960's vintage Ford Interceptor Marine Engine with Warner Velvet Drive transmission. I need information this engine if anyone can help- Engine No# 31R18270.

Located in Houston, TX

Planning to sell this engine.

Can anyone identify anything with that number on the block? Lookin for cu in size or rated HP at the time? Approximate year? Thanks in advance.
 
Its a y-block, for sure....

You may find a more knowledgeable crowd, for this vintage, over on oldmarineengine.com.....
 
I'd suggest googling ford y block and see what comes up...

They weren't made for a long time span so they never developed a huge installed base....there are a few shops that specialize in them but its mostly old car use...
 
The picture of the timing cover show, what looks like, a "E" as the first letter in serial number. That would make the engine a 215HP 312 cu in motor and it is right hand rotation.
