2008 Yamaha 150 Vmax oil leak?

Hello guys I am new to the forum and new to out boards.

I recently inherited my dads 08 skeeter with a Yamaha 150. I popped the top on it to feel my way around and I noticed a sheen and a few drops of what looks like oil. No puddling anywhere but a good sheen on the entire front portion of the motor. Is this normal for these motors? My 2011 mercruiser 4.3 has a pcv system that is far from perfect that sheens heads with oil but these outboards are alien tech to me. Are there any high fail items on these motors? I will try to upload images via pc .

If you removed the cowling on my engine and took a look, you'd see a sheen of silicone spray all over it (for protection). Maybe that's what you're seeing. It could also just be a few drops of oil that spilled from the filter during the last service.
