I am new to the forum and new to Mercury outboard.
I just pick up the Mercury800. The owner said "

Doesn’t run no spark tons of compression... have a spare motor exact same for parts, extra motor has blown bottom end".
The owner said it is 1979 80hp Mercury but I look up the serial number # 7055746 and could not find the year of it. It was made in Canada by Mercury Marine Ltd, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Could anyone tell me the year of it so I could order the parts? Also Is it a good motor to make it work again? The owner said he had changed a new CDI box but it was no spark!
