3.5hp fresh water flush

3.5hp Tohatsu. I have the fresh water flush adapter but dont understand how it works. It is a fitting that will screw into the underside of engine. Do i leave it there? or do I have to remove the plug and re-install the adapter every time??? Do i have to cut a hose and use a hose clamp every time to flush?
 
Yes, when flushing with the adapter, pull the plug and screw in the adapter. When done, reinstall the plug. Yes, you need a hose or tube to get water to the adapter.
 
Well, That aint going to happen!! Way to much work. And I'm sure I will drop the plug or adapter in the water. I will continue to use the trash can method
