Bf225 head bolts

If you are working on someone else's motor it may cost you if they snap better be safe than sorry the manual tells you to check them , a lot of us want to save money and take a chances.

There is no measurement of lenght in the shop manual .it just tells you to apply engine oil to the threaded section and the seating surface of the bolt. Loosely install the bolts in the head, and torque in 3 steps. Torque to 29ft.lb in a cross pattern starting with the center bolts going outwards. Then turn each 50 degrees and additionally 53 degrees. No mention of replacing the bolts. I have reused same bolts many times , no problem.

The point is these are TTY bolts that writer of the Seloc manual specify, s to check these bolts on page 6-68 he sticks to good engineering practices .I give him credit for that .

These aftermarket manuals are written to be sold.----Many folks buy them.----Some of these manuals belong in the little house with the 1/4 moon in the door.
