Lost power

I have an 82 80 hp 2 stroke that was running great until yesterday. At full throttle there was a misfire and the rpms went down to 2000. I limped back to the dock. The motor starts easy if I advance the throttle in neutral. Motor will idle at 600 rpm without stalling but when I put it in gear it dies. In neutral it will rev up fine. Ohms test good on all four coils. Checked spark, okay. Tried new plugs, no change. Inspected fuel system and no issues. Bulb gets hard when squeezing and doesn’t affect idle if squeezing while running. Can over rev it it and get it in gear but 2000 rpm max. Any suggestions

Bad high speed stator. Check the ohms on the red wire to ground.

Going backwards. Only one cylinder (#1) firing today. Rechecked coils with multimeter and all good. New plugs no help.What should the ohms read at the stator? Insulation on stator wires dry and cracking. Probably need to replace regardless of reading.
