I have two Honda 90's

2011 bf90D Ser#BBCJ1017190 seized motor everything else in great shape and looks good.

2007 90 Ser#BBCJ10033 good motor, lower unit skeg broken off, all plastic broken, other parts broken, tree fell on outboard.

I would like to take the 2007 powerhead off and install it on the 2011.

I have been told that many times the nuts or bolts holding the powerhead on break off. Is this a common thing?

I'm not a mechanic but the job doesn't look overwhelming just time consuming, but I am apprehensive about snapping off nuts and bolts.

Any feedback is welcome.

You should have no problem changing them over, use a workshop manual and do it step by step. Most of the bolts are inside the oil pan area. Just buy yourself a powerhead gasket kit(cheapest option) and the mountcase oil seals must be replaced and you're away.
