Plz help. Pival thing at steering cable end

Hi. I am swapping out motors and cant figure out how to get steering cable back through tube to remove engine from boat. The round ball and pivot are to big . How does it come off plz
 
Sounds like you have some more disassembly to do. The only thing that should come through the hollow housing is the steering rod itself. The pivot stays on the engine

I am stumped. I can not figure out where this comes apart to come out. What am I missing?
