Grinds shifting into forward or reverse, Doesn't want to catch until nearly 3/4 throttle.
After in gear, anything from idle to 3/4 throttle will buck and jerk.. clutch dog slipping... At WOT will hold gear no problem and run smooth can back it off to just under 3/4 before starts bucking again.

Does this sound more like linkage adjustment or is lower unit toast? I feel like wouldn't hold gear at WOT if clutch dog / forward gear was worn?
Will be draining lower unit and checking for shavings this week

I'm thinking your prop hub is slipping. Scribe a mark on the inner hub and outer prop section, run it and see if the marks moved.

There is every possibility that the throttle and shift cables are switched, the shift cable moves first then the throttle; which could explain it not catching until 3/4. When you are shifting do it quickly don't let them grind into gear.
