Water coming out of joint on leg

Hey I bought a boat with a 1990 OMC 4.3L. I havent taken it out on the water yet just ran on muffs, today I noticed water coming of the joint on the leg while on muffs, is that normal?leg.jpg

This is normal, there is a nipple on the impeller housing that is connected to a rubber hose that is mounted in the upper gear housing...that is there to let you know the water pump is pumping and also to allow the water pump to prime more easily. As you can see the water pump (raw water impeller) is under that plastic cover. Like the pee stream on an outboard.
