2002 nissan 9.9B 4-stroke oil light

After a day running fine and fishing, I went to start the motor and the oil light came on. Would run smooth at idle, but rough at any other throttle adjustment.

I changed the engine oil with 10W-30
Changed the lower oil also when I first got the boat 2 weeks ago.
​​​​​​​So.... what is causing the issue, and how do I fix it?

No sir it's a 2002 9.9 B 3V5-1.
The oil psi gauge on the motor is bad, apparently this isnt the first issue with this!

The oil looks to be approx 3/8" over high mark, but it's not sitting level.
 
Get the oil level right. Attach a mechanical gauge and see what the oil pressure is. If needed, install a new sender.
