Working on a 94 Nissan 90HP 2 stroke oil injection outboard -- the small plastic connector at the end of the throttle cable SNAPS every time I put the motor in gear -- any ideas WHY this is happening?

Is your model NS90A? You didn't say.
Which connector? Does it come off, or break, or what?
Are you referring to the clevis with the R pin?

Its the trottle cable connector - connects the trottle to the fast idle; it breaks every time the motor is put in gear. I'll have to look at the model number when I get back to the shop, didn't write it down, sorry -- thank you for your help! I have copied a picture of the piece that keeps breaking...just can't figure out WHY it is breaking ?!

Do you mean the link rod that operates all 3 carburetors?

That looks like item 9 in the diagram.

Something could be way out of adjustment.
