454XL Oil Pressure Switch - Where is it?

Where is the oil pressure switch on a 1992 454XL?

The other day I was running around 3K rpm when the RPM's started to slowly drop and the engine died. I was able to restart it but it wouldn't rev past 1500 rpm under load until it would slowly climb up to around 3500 rpm at full throttle.

I ran some cleaner thru the carb, took it out and while the RPM's would slowly rise and sometimes fall there is a definite miss. It acts like it's starving for fuel.

Anyway, I've got a new fuel filter coming in but I wanted to also check the oil pressure switch that controls the fuel pump.

Where is it mounted?

Right behind the alternator threaded into the block. Easy change on the starboard engine, not so much on the port engine. Definitely trouble shoot before dropping $100+ on a new switch.

The TBI systems usually control their fuel pump thru the ECU, so you probably don't have the switch in question....a single wire is either the warning horn switch or the sender unit...
