Replacing 4.3tks with 4.3lx

I am looking to purchase a boat that was improperly winterized (cracked block and manifolds).

The shops in my area quoted me around 5k to replace it with a reman. I have access to a lift and a mechanic on hand to help me, so I'm pretty confident we can handle the swap. I just want to make sure I'm bringing the right part to the job.

The boat has a 2008 4.3tks 2bbl.

I have found a turn key 2bbl 4.3l from a 98-02ish model boat.

Can i drop the older 4.3 in as is and be on my way? Cost wise this seems to be my cheapest option.

Or would i be better off buying a long block from Rapidomarine, a pair of new manifolds, and swapping the peripherals from the current 4.3 to the rapido-reman 4.3 (if even possible).

Thanks in advance.

Plug and play for sure may want to check out the replacement looks like the engine had a bunch of corrosion on it that some one rattle canned some fresh black paint on. Doesn’t mean it won’t work just be check that it didn’t get corrosion inside or all the accessories being corroded

Thanks to you both. I noticed the fresh coat of spray paint, waiting on a response from two other possible options before committing to this anything. Mainly happy to hear that my plug and play thoughts weren’t far fetched.
